About NaMÓ

NaMÓ is an African’s African and a true gentleman’s gentleman… when hosting an event, acting, or just doing stand-up comedy, he seeks out his listeners and/or the audience with his mind. In his words, “Laughter for the African is the only way, look at us! How else do you think we survive? It’s like fish in water! Laughter for everyone is the best medicine…it’s free and it works!!” Inspired by his Father to pursue his dreams, he found his niche through learning from various inspirational comedic talents, especially from performances by Chris Rock who he considers his virtual-mentor, grand master of comedy — Ali Baba, as well as extra-talented hosts/MCs, Frank Edohor and IK (formerly known as Wild Child).

Hosting events, Stand-up comedy, and Acting is what he considers as his “element in three parts”, but any opportunity to fuse as many of his skills as possible in a single performance is his motivation…. He’s definitely ready to set any room on humor-fire!!

What is the most embarrassing thing your parents have ever done to you?

NaMÓ: Quite frankly, I think the question should be the other way around: what are the most embarrassing things I have done to my parents? Because I’m not a victim, I’m the usual suspect. So I would like to use this opportunity to apologize to them… But on the other hand, I can’t forget the day my mum cut my Kid ‘n’ Play hairdo with scissors for my insubordination (see I told you I knew big words). I had to carry a clean-shaven head for weeks. I still get nightmares from memories of my gorimapa!
